Bringing Organic Produce from Norwich Meadows Farm to New York City
By joining a CSA, you get seasonal, local, and organic products, all while supporting New York farms and small businesses.
Washington Square CSA is a farm share group located in the East Village in Manhattan.
We are a volunteer-led organization devoted to bringing farm products from upstate New York into our local community, and creating a community around shared food values. By joining our CSA, you’ll gain access to weekly shares of farm produce direct from the farmer. You’ll also get to know your neighbors through weekly pickups and events like happy hours, cooking demos, farm visits, and our annual CSA Smackdown competition.
More About Us ︎︎︎CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a program for purchasing fresh produce from a regional farm.
CSA partipication benefits members, farmers, our community, and our environment.
CSAs help farmers by allowing them to reduce food waste (in good years) and financial loss (in bad years). CSAs bring members fresh, organic, and seasonal vegetables, keeping their fridges full and bellies fuller. By joining a CSA, you become part of a thriving community committed to both good food and sustainable practices.
How Our CSA Works ︎︎︎The farm consists of over 80 acres of farmed land, and 20 acres of pasture providing fresh produce to a number of local CSAs.
Our CSA shares come from Norwich Meadows Farm, located in Norwich, NY.
A certified organic farm, Norwich Meadows Farm was established in 1998.
Currently the farm consists of over 80 acres of farmed land, and 20 acres of pasture providing produce to a number of CSAs. Farmer Zaid Kurdieh cultivates gorgeous, organic produce that keeps our bellies full, our bodies healthy.
