By joining the Washington Square CSA, I understand that Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) relies on the active contributions of each and every member, and agree to the conditions below:

1. Payment Terms

Payment for the share must be made in full by the deadline. Members will only qualify for promotional early sign up pricing when they have paid in full by the date required. Members who do not submit their payment by the discount deadline must pay the amount of the next deadline. If a payment is received after the TBA final payment deadline, the member will not be able to participate in the share. Share and add-on options cannot be changed after the payment deadline. Additionally, $50 of each payment will be kept as a non-refundable deposit in the case that a member cancels their share.

2. Shared Risk and Product Availability

All members share the financial risk of the season with the farm and CSA. Availability of specific products and quantity of produce is not guaranteed, and could be impacted by weather or other unforeseen factors. Add-on items may occasionally be unavailable for the regular pick-up date; in this case, members will receive replacement items at a later date, if available. Additionally, due to the fragile nature of the eggs purchase as add-ons, every now and again there may be some cracks. We try our best to make sure that doesn't happen, but it is a risk that you assume by participating in this share. Further, the variety of the vegetables and fruit available at each pick up depend entirely on what we receive from the farm, what is in season, and the day to day weather. As such, members should be aware that the types of produce available vary week-to-week and season-to-season.

3. Product Pickup Responsibility

It is the responsibility of each member to pick up only those products for which they have paid. No member should take any products that are not clearly marked as being a part of the share purchased. We cannot honor requests to take extra amounts of certain preferred items, or changing/adding share options once the sign-up deadlines have passed.

4. Missed Pickups

Due to lack of storage and the perishable nature of the share, missed pickups cannot be compensated or refunded. Members should arrange for another person to pick up their share if they are unavailable on the date of pick-up.

5. Split Shares or Half Shares

Where splitting shares, members are responsible for the logistics of how they divide their shares and their volunteer shift requirements. The Core Committee will not divide shares, hold split shares, or monitor frequency of pickups for split shares -- that responsibility is borne entirely by the members. WSCSA reserves the right to limit the number of half-shares available for sign up.

6. Volunteer Work Shifts

Community Supported Agriculture relies on the full participation of all members to ensure our success. As such, every summer WSCSA share requires that a member complete three 2 hour work shift during the summer season, or find a friend or other representative to fulfill the work shift for them. Members who do not fulfill their work shifts or buy out of a work shift (only available during summer share), or who register for a shift and cancel within 48 hours of pickup, will be charged a fee of $100 per shift at the end of the season. Members must understand that failing to complete the work shift means that others are caused to work an additional shift, and we therefore strongly encourage you to sign up only if you can meet this commitment. Please be advised, if we do not have enough volunteers to assist in unloading the truck on pick-up day, the core committee reserves the right to cancel that day's pick up.
